Praxinet Inc.introduces “UnITy™, the first rapid integration tool optimized for OutlookSoft CPM
Ridgefield, CT- Praxinet, a provider of consulting and software solutions specializing in Corporate Performance Management (CPM), today announced the release of “UnITy™,” a powerful integration tool for OutlookSoft CPM, a leader in the emerging field of unified cross-enterprise BPM solutions.
“UnITy™ is the first and only OutlookSoft CPM-centric integration tool that works with CPM to effectively leverage clients’ investments in multiple ERP and database systems,” describes Bob Bedard, the CEO of Praxinet. “UnITy™ offers the ability to quickly and easily integrate multiple sources with CPM; unlocking the enormous value buried within institutional data found throughout an organization, while dramatically reducing the cost of the integration.”
“We’ve deployed cross-enterprise CPM solutions for dozens of corporate customers over the past decade. The cost to integrate various data sources consistently ranges from 20% to as much as 50% of a project budget. It is one of the largest contributors to the total cost of deployment, and frankly, one of the more difficult costs to predict from the onset,” explains Anthony D’Anna, Praxinet’s Vice-President of Business Performance Management. “UnITy ™ dramatically increases the success rate of projects by significantly reducing costs and deployment time, while assuring the highest level of integrity of the integration.”
Daniel Schmidt, the CIO of Constellation Software describes his company’s experience with UnITy™: “UnITy™ has been a tremendous benefit to us in a number of ways. We currently use it to load General Ledger data into OutlookSoft from over 30 different companies, each running their own Great Plains database. UnITy™ reduced the time and effort needed to load and process a year’s worth of data by 90%. UnITy™ automatically performs all of the necessary queries, transformations, conversions, loadings and logic formula executions.
It has also been a great tool to help us integrate a new company more quickly; connecting new companies or new data sources to OutlookSoft is a simple process that takes only a few minutes.
In the future, we plan to use it for other operational applications built on the OutlookSoft platform, such as Customer Relationship Management, Human Capital Management, and Project Management. There really is no limit to what "front-end" system you can integrate into OutlookSoft with UnITy™."
“Praxinet is OutlookSoft’s oldest and most experienced implementation partner. Their unique blend of financial expertise and technical skills consistently provides exceptional value to our OutlookSoft customer base and the CPM product. Unity™ represents the logical culmination of those skills,” said Ken Lavoie at OutlookSoft. “We are tremendously excited about UnITy™ because it reinforces our goal for CPM to be the preeminent cross enterprise application which provides customers ‘the single version of the truth’.”
UnITy™ currently provides integration connectors between OutlookSoft CPM and Oracle Financials, Microsoft Dynamics AX (formerly Microsoft Business Solutions Axapta) and Microsoft Dynamics GP (formerly Microsoft Business Solutions Great Plains). Additional integration connectors to SAP and PeopleSoft are under development and are expected to be available in the first quarter. “Beyond that, we will allow the market to drive our development direction regarding other connectors,” says Bedard. “Over the many years we have been implementing CPM solutions, we have seen these five ERP products to be the most commonly represented in the enterprise market and the high end of the mid-market.”

Praxinet Launches a Municipal Performance Management Pilot Program
Ridgefield, CT, May 5, 2004 - Praxinet Inc. announced that it has launched its Municipal Performance Management (MPM) Pilot Program. The goal of the MPM Pilot Program is to partner with several leading CT municipalities to develop a plan, standards, and a technology platform that will unify the approach that municipalities use with regard to performance management. The MPM Pilot Program participants-the Towns of Avon, Glastonbury, West Hartford, and Windsor-will be the first to test this cooperative approach to performance management.
"The value of performance measurement is its emphasis on accountability. It adds transparency to local government and communicates what really goes on," says Leon Churchill, Town Manager of Windsor, CT. "Windsor is persistently mindful of finding out the best practices in all operations. Praxinet's MPM Program provides insight into the performance of the leading municipalities in the area and allows us to absorb that into our business planning process."
Praxinet envisions the MPM Pilot Program will also formalize how benchmarking against peer towns and cities and sharing of lessons learned and best practices will be managed when it decides to make the MPM Program available to other interested municipalities, which it expects to begin in the fall of 2004.
"We are very excited about the MPM Pilot Program. We believe the cooperative approach we are taking overcomes many of the obstacles municipalities face when trying to implement a performance management capability," says Bob Bedard, President & CEO of Praxinet. "Our plan is to begin with internal and peer benchmark measures then extend MPM's reach to enable the municipalities to interact with the various constituencies within each community. Our program offers significant benefits to any municipality managing the challenges of attracting and retaining residents and businesses, improving service levels, controlling costs, or expediting labor-intensive processes."

Praxinet Inc. Launches HedgeManager to Address FAS-133 Compliance for Oil & Gas Traders
Ridgefield, CT- Praxinet Inc. announces the launch of HedgeManager, a dynamic, web-based hedge tracking application that provides management controls, in-depth analytics, and hedge reporting compliance. Through its unique development skills and financial process knowledge, Praxinet designed HedgeManager to address challenges brought on by the Financial Accounting Standards Board Rule 133, “Accounting for Derivative Instruments and Hedging Activities.” Specifically, HedgeManager was designed to fill a niche in the oil, propane, and natural gas industry.
FAS-133 has forced companies to rethink the way they account for hedging and derivatives, and more importantly, to evaluate the ability of their information technology systems to support compliance. “We conducted a market analysis of FAS 133 compliance solutions,” says Peter McKinney, Vice President of Praxinet’s Internet Practice. “We found that the existing solution vendors do not adequately meet the specific needs required by companies hedging oil, propane, and gas futures. So, we developed HedgeManager to fill this gap.”
This web-native solution simplifies the tracking and analysis of energy-related commodity hedging activities using advanced, but proven Internet technology. HedgeManager maintains information on individual commodity trades, provides management controls to preserve data integrity and regulate trader activity, preserves trade history for reporting and analysis, stores actual mark to market trades, maintains an audit trail for general ledger integration purposes, and provides sensitivity analysis and FAS 133 compliance reporting capabilities.
With HedgeManager, oil and gas companies can track their hedging activities and perform in-depth analysis over the web, make more informed hedging decisions, and maintain compliance with FAS-133.

Praxinet Introduces Map-enabled Business Intelligence by Partnering with MapInfo Corporation
RIDGEFIELD, CT - Praxinet Inc., a business consulting and systems integration firm that focuses on developing custom software solutions, and MapInfo Corporation (NASDAQ:MAPS), a global company and software technology leader, have announced a partnership to provide customers with enhanced customized Web-based data visualization tools. These tools allow organizations to identify market trends that would be difficult to uncover without mapping visualization.
"Praxinet selected MapInfo as our partner because of its market-leading line of mapping products, as well as its strategic focus on business intelligence solutions," says Bob Bedard, Founder and CEO of Praxinet.
Praxinet plans to integrate MapInfo's Geographic Information System products with Microsoft's Analysis Services to create an innovative Business Intelligence tool called Spatial Online Analytical Processing (Spatial OLAP) applications. Spatial OLAP combines interactive web-based mapping with a proven business intelligence toolset. These tools provide developers and administrators a flexible and easy way to interact with OLAP databases that contain geographic information. Spatial OLAP allows users to identify trends and to make more informed decisions.
"Through our experience implementing business intelligence tools, we have identified the need to create a vehicle to strengthen the usability of traditional Online Analytical Processing applications," states Bedard. "Many businesses are naturally organized by geography. Spatial OLAP is a versatile tool for such companies to better understand and manage their business operations," continues Bedard.
According to Bedard, Spatial OLAP provides users with a point and click ability to "drill down" into the data underlying a chart or map, thus empowering the user to easily visualize, analyze, and navigate through complex data. It can allow users to identify trends that would be invisible without mapping visualization and tie company data to demographic and census bureau data.
Examples of this might include:
real estate companies can display rent and sales data based on location
retail companies can view sales and demographic data based on store locations
Wireless Telecom companies can analyze usage patterns based on location and evaluate the reach and disbursement of their cell towers.
